The concept of sustainability cannot be the matter of one department, but of the entire company

Program of the second year of Forum for sustainable business has the ambition to introduce the topic of sustainability as a key competitive advantage of the companies that incorporate it into their business strategies and share it across the entire company, not just as a matter of one specialised department. The Conference, which will be held on March 14 at the Dorint Hotel Don Giovanni will bring contributions of the leading foreign and Czech companies management that will share their experience. Concluding part will belong to a large panel discussion focused on specific sustainability issues in the Czech environment and the role of company management positions in their enforcement.

These days the organizers of the Forum for sustainable business, company Blue Events and University of Economics in Prague, have published the program of the 2nd year, which will be held on Wednesday, 14th of March 2012 at the Dorint Hotel Don Giovanni in Prague.  Its main intention is to introduce the topic of sustainability as a key competitive advantage to those companies that incorporate it into their business strategies. The keynote speaker of the conference will be Martin Hill, Vice-President for sustainability in SAP EMEA who will approach the main strategic requirements and innovative solutions in the field of sustainability for TOP 100 European customers

Inspiring presentation will undoubtedly be the one from Augustine Lucardi of InterfaceFLOR. Thanks to the strategy based on long-term sustainability, this company has become a global leader in floor coverings and carpets. InterfaceFLOR, having integrated the issue of sustainability between the main strategy pillars of its development already in 1990s, is now better positioned to achieve success.

Another angle of view will be demonstrated by a case study "Walmart Engaging its Associates", which reveals that a passionate and knowledgeable corporate responsibility team or committed CEO may not be sufficient to become a market leader. Equally important is the involvement of all associates. Their active support for sustainability across the whole company shall deliver authenticity, credibility and ultimately positive business results.

The afternoon program will present practical examples of sustainability application at different management levels in companies operating in our market, starting with the areas of business development, financial management, operations, logistics, HR management, up to marketing and PR communications. The conference will be concluded by a panel discussion on specific issues of sustainability in the Czech environment and the role of company management positions in their enforcement. CEOs should understand that sustainability is not the area to invest into when sources are accidentally available. It's a strategy that allows you to keep ahead of the competition.
