Key topic of Retail Summit 2016 revealed: How to bring value back to retail business?

Prague, August 7, 2015 – Retail Summit 2016, the largest event of its kind in CEE, will focus on hot topic of value uplift of retail business. The value will be discussed in the context of the whole chain of its creation (or liquidation ...), i.e. in relation to key stakeholders from customers up to employees. To offer an even wider range of opportunities for networking, the Summit will extend its format for 3 days (1 - 3 February 2016). The popular venue stays unchanged: Prague Clarion Congress Centre.

Independent analyses indicate that retailing does not bring the value it deserves. Relations between retailers and their suppliers are far from being good and are deteriorating even more. Retail companies do not appreciate their employees and the staff in turn, does not care for customers as much as they expect. Shoppers´ loyalty remains at very low levels, and customers´ relationship to individual retailers can be best described as a hunting for the best promotional offers. Media report about the retail sector mostly negatively, retailers are referred nearly as "usual suspects". Neither the owners of retail companies have anything to celebrate, because the profitability of their business is, with just few exceptions, not attractive. In a nutshell: despite the huge investments into the Czech (and CEE) retail network that were made in the last two decades, the value of retailing is not, where it should and could be.

Retail Summit, the largest event of its kind in CEE, will therefore in its 22nd Year focus on this hot topic. The value will be discussed in the context of the whole chain of its creation (or liquidation ...), i.e. in relation to key stakeholders. Individual program blocks will address the issue of the relationship of retail with suppliers/food producers, farmers, the government or local communities. Significant attention will be of course also paid to customers, employees and shareholders/owners of retail companies.

Compared with previous years, the Summit will extend its format for 3 days (1 - 3 February 2016) to offer an even wider range of opportunities for negotiations and richer networking options.
