Pilot year of the special conference CIO Agenda, which was held on October 7th in Prague was successful. It has fit perfectly to the needs of CIO and CTO managers, it is testified not just by a very positive feedback at the event monitoring participants' satisfaction but mainly by the fact the questionnaire regarding satisfaction rate has been filled by 50 % of them. This is a record share of questionnaires return in the history of Blue Events conferences. It testifies about great engagement and interest of participants and can also be taken as a confirmation that IT managers in the Czech Republic were missing this type of event.
Organizers of the conference CIO Agenda, which took place on October 7, 2015 in Prague, have resolved to accomplish a difficult mission - to bring entirely new concept to the market with high penetration of specialized IT conferences. The course of event and outcome of the research among participants showed that it worked and that a conference format was established for people in IT who are not afraid to think "business". In their presentations speakers inspired primarily to more effective collaboration of IT with other departments of enterprises and organizations. There were summarized basic requirements of CIO and collaboration previews on the cooperation with IT from the view of CEO, Sales, Controlling and Marketing Managers, and there was also heard a number of inspiring reflections and suggestions on how to improve the perception and strengthen the position of CIO in the company.
The spontaneous responses at the conference and a written survey, where every other participant actively participated, clearly showed that the news conference was very well accepted by the market.
High satisfaction is connected primarily to information asset, which was rated exceptionally well. The best "school grade" - rounded to one – was given to five speakers. The best evaluation was given to Petr Beneš (CIO Česká spořitelna) with an average grade of 1.26. Very similar grade was given to, Jan Hanuš (CEO Kostelecké uzeniny) and Jan Doležal (Director of PM Consulting). Organizers were especially pleased with the numerous positive comments of participants to these speakers, for example: "drive, energy, precision and realism", "a great speaker with an inspiring and visionary presentation" or "I'm personally very happy both with the selection of speakers and the topics."
The statements characterizing the overall impression of the conference were gratifying also, e.g.: "Great atmosphere, I'm excited," "Due to the fact that all subjects are my daily bread, I am overall very satisfied", "At last an event for CIOs with business thinking!" "This day has brought interesting ideas that I do not have myself and shift my perception of the position of the CIO" or "Thanks to the different points of view I just realized the potential benefits of the existence of the CIO and the IT involvement in management."
Some of the answers in questionnaires also contained critical messages, pointing out that not all speakers or panelists reached the desired maturity. Part of the respondents also pointed out that for a good result the will to cooperate from both sides, not just from IT, is needed.
Based on the feedback to the first year organizers come to believe that the CIO Agenda as a new communication and information platform for CIOs has deep meaning and it is justified to continue with it in the coming years.
Therefore, it can now be announced that the next meeting of prominent CIOs and CTOs named CIO Agenda will take place on October 5, 2016. Participants can look forward to the opinions of renowned CIOs and their contribution to the success of the company's business, to solving issues related to effective communication of IT team inside and out, and especially to informal networking with interesting peers.
